Prediction and epidemiology for GAstrointestinal Conditions Lab

The Prediction and Epidemiology for Gastrointestinal Conditions Lab (PEGi Lab) is housed in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Ravy K. Vajravelu, MD MSCE, is the principal investigator of PEGi Lab.

Our research aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal conditions by developing clinical prediction models that consider the nuances of a patient’s background and experience.

Our approach to this goal involves:

  • Applying cutting-edge data analytic techniques to large administrative health data

  • Developing novel biostatistical methods to process and analyze high-dimensional health data

  • Integrating research approaches across biomedical disciplines
